The little threads that connect us

The little threads that connect us

I have been living in the same house for over 10 years now, and during my countless walks around the neighborhood, I have met some truly wonderful people. Today, I want to share a story about one of them, someone who lives right on my street.

About a year ago, I was out walking Chip when I noticed a beautiful woman sitting in a rocking chair on her front porch, reading a book. Her long white hair was pulled back into a ponytail. There was a slight breeze ruffling the loose strands around her face. She had this incredible calm, peaceful aura about her. I must have stared a little too long because eventually, she looked up and gave me the warmest smile. I couldn’t help but tell her how serene she looked, which made her smile even brighter.

Maureen and I became instant friends. Every time I walked by her house and saw her outside, we would chat for a few minutes. Over time, our conversations grew longer, and we started sharing stories about our families, books we loved, our spiritual beliefs, and so much more.

A few weeks before my trip to Germany, I saw Maureen on her porch again. As usual, we started chatting, and my dog, Chip—knowing our conversations tend to take a while—made himself comfortable in a shady spot on her lawn. When I mentioned I was going to Germany, Maureen was very excited for me. She told me her father was born there. I asked where, and to my surprise, she said Stralsund! Stralsund, that tiny town on the Baltic Sea, just so happens to be where I grew up! What a magical coincidence!

Isn’t life magical sometimes? We are all connected in ways we don’t always see. If we are paying attention, there is a little thread that ties us to each person we meet.

I am so grateful for each and every one of you. I hope you can feel the little threads that connect us too. It means so much to me that you take time out of your day to read my blog posts. I hope they make you smile 🩷.

Wishing you health, wealth & most of all... happiness!

Love,
